Choral Scholar/Senior Chorister visit to Amsterdam
In the February half term 2007 all the choral scholars except one, and the six senior choristers enjoyed an overnight trip to Amsterdam. An early flight from Bristol on the Monday, and a late one back on the Tuesday meant that we were able to get two whole days sightseeing. We all took a canal cruise around the city, and we all visited the Anne Frank Museum, a most moving experience for everyone, and the Amstelkring Museum (the extraordinary long, narrow church on the top floor of a 17th century merchant’s house). On the Tuesday morning we split up, half of us taking a train out to the Ajax stadium, while the culture vultures went to the Van Gogh Museum. Our hotel was right in the centre, just a short walk from the station, and amongst its attractions it boasted an excellent restaurant where we ate twice. Once again we thank Mrs Catherine Hayman for accompanying us and thereby making it possible.
